One evening in January 2024, Brooke answered a phone call from a guy she had matched with on a dating app. She had never met this guy or even talked to him on the phone before, so the call came as a surprise. When she answered, her match, Jared, immediately told her he was with his roommate, and they had some questions for Brooke. Confused and intrigued, Brooke carried on the conversation with Jared until it was evident that the two were, in fact, not a match in real life. Jared told Brooke to talk to his roommate for a minute while he did something. After about 45 minutes and no sign of Jared returning, Brooke told the roommate she needed to go to bed, hung up the phone, and said out loud, Ohhhh no... what if I like the roommate?
Since then, we’ve seen the Lord’s provision, sovereignty, and generosity in ways we truly couldn’t have asked or imagined. It became evident quickly that we would be more useful for His kingdom together than we would be apart. We are where we are because of Him, and we will strive to bring Him glory together. Simply, we are humbled, grateful, and so excited.
